ABOUT THE LAKRIDS LOVERS LAB
The purpose of this group is to get even closer to our community and invite all you liquorice lovers out there to take part in shaping the future of Lakrids by Bülow.
We hope you will post all the input and questions you may have to our product - everything from design to taste and sustainability profile - so we can continue to improve and together succeed with our mission - to make the world love liquorice!
Furthermore, we will ask for your opinions on everything from taste and design to which stories you would like to hear.
You will also have the opportunity to get invited to the factory and participate in focus groups, surveys, events etc. and we promise small perks along the way.

LAKRIDS LOVERS LAB PRODUCTS
DARK & SEA SALT
Back in 2018, we launched our first lab product! Back then it was called VARIANT DCMA_1 and now we call it DARK & SEA SALT. Since it's debut as a lab product, this product has been available for two consecutive Winter collections and now as a permanent edition under the name F - DARK & SEA SALT.
CHOCOLATEY
In 2018 we launched our first vegan chocolate coated liquorice product. The sweet liquorice core was covered in chocolate made from coconut milk and topped with fine liquorice powder. It took us a long time to make a plant-based product that did not compromise on our quality standard and when we finally managed, we asked our community to give us feedback.
SLOW CRAFTED STICKS
STICKS are now a part of our standard assortment, but they started as Lakrids Lovers Lab products! Based on the amazing feedback from our community, we did not have to make any alterations to taste, but we were inspired to change the plastic packaging. We reduced the amount of packaging and switched to plant-based material called biofoil and introduced STICKS to our permanent product portfolio.
STAUNING STICKS
We wanted to bring together whisky- and liquorice-lovers under one roof. Our STAUNING STICK BOX came with four different sticks, made with 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% Stauning "Curious" New Make Whisky. Each STICK represented a new and careful blend of whisky and liquorice and we asked you to tell us which one you prefer: inside the box was a QR code that led to a short survey.
TWISTED BANANA
So many people went bananas over this dreamy combination of banana, salty liquorice, creamy white chocolate, and raw liquorice powder. We took the popular, sweet banana and given it a unique, Danish confectionery twist. After all, it’s ok to go bananas, as long as you remember your Danish liquorice roots.
D DUEL
We love to create new product flavours, but we also love to improve our current assortment regardless of how popular a product is. D - SALT & CARAMEL DUEL contains two versions of our popular D - SALT & CARAMEL chocolate coated liquorice.
SALT & SUGAR
Our beloved Halloween 2016 edition made a comeback for the true liquorice lovers out there that had been longing for the return of SALT & SUGAR. It may have a sweet core, but it is not for the faint-hearted because the crispy sugar coating is coupled with strong salmiak. The combination of salt and sugar creates a unique taste sensation and the soft and chewy texture of these bites was once again a hit.
CARAMEL DATE
It is time to get curious and enjoy the sweets of nature in a surprisingly delicious combination. With organic SLOW CRAFTED liquorice creating a caramellike inner core, organic Deglet Nour dates are added to ensure an overall outstanding creamy and truly indulgent experience. To give the sweetness some edge, we added crunchy Maldon sea salt flakes.
DARK TRUFFLE
Double chocolate equals double enjoyment. An organic SLOW CRAFTED liquorice in the centre, coated in smooth milk chocolate with a thin layer of fruity dark chocolate on the outside. As a final touch, the products are dusted in a rich and intense cocoa powder to enhance deep and delightful chocolate notes.
VANILLA MANGO
An exotic balance of sweet and fruity that will give you a true sense of travelling the world. Here you have a tasteful caramel-like core of organic SLOW CRAFTED liquorice surrounded by creamy white chocolate, fresh and fruity notes of exquisite Alphonso mango and sweet notes of Bourbon vanilla.
LEMON CUSTARD
Discover the taste of fresh and juicy lemon enhanced by a salty liquorice centre, all swirled in luscious white chocolate, cream and vanilla. This recipe is a sensory interpretation of a consumer proposal.
MILK & HONEY
Indulge yourself with MILK & HONEY introducing the gold of nature in a unique SLOW CRAFTED liquorice core. We have always been fascinated by bees and the sweet magic they produce, and that’s why we have experimented with a special SLOW CRAFTED recipe using organic honey from a local Danish producer. A smooth caramellike taste experience, which combined with soft milk chocolate and flakes of sea salt, will make you feel united with nature and its buzzing bees.
